The big money in poker today is the money made by affiliates. It might seem weird that the ones making the big bucks on poker are neither the really good pros or those actually supplying the poker sites. If you have a somewhat popular poker site you can easily make rather good money as an affiliate. (This is alos valid for other kinds of online gaming but since this is a poker site we’ll stop mentioning other kinds of gambling).
Let’s calculate the possible earnings of an affiliate
Most pokerrooms today use a payment method called CPA which means cost per action. Usually they are prepared to pay about $100 for a paying customer. The player doesn’t have to deposit anyway near those amounts, it’s usually enough with about $10 for the deposit to count towards CPA. On an average site you can almost always count on a CTR (click trough rate) on 1 or 2 percent and a site specialized on a topic that encourages clicks will probably get better. If you for example have a site with top lists over the best poker sites (not that unusual) there is a big possibility that your visitors will click more on the links. It should be possible to get a CTR of 5% in those cases.
It is my opinion that ANY site can reach 100 visitors a month without to much work and that makes 3100 visitors every month. 5% CTR gives 155 visitors sent to poker sites. Then, depending on how good the poker site is at converting their visitors to customers you’ll get a certain number of signups. A reasonable estimate is a minimum of 5% conversion on visitors from affiliates. That would give the result that 7.75 visitors every month will pay off. $100 for each one of these will give $775 a month.

How much Work is it?
A site with 100 visitors a day is a very small site. I, for example, own at least 15 sites of this quality. With two months of work you can easily create a site like this. That might seem a lot of work for $775 a month but don’t forget that the money keep coming even after you have stopped working with the site. In 12 months you’ll create 5 sites like this without to much effort and that means $3.875 a month in salary without having to work.
